Built in 1888, ‘The Royer House’ is named in honor of the late Joseph R. Royer, confectioner extraordinaire, who owned the Ice Cream Garden at 50 W. King St., and was influential to a young entrepreneur named Milton S. Hershey in helping him hone his skills in the art of candy making. This American classic is situated in the heart of downtown Lancaster and is a short walk to the Lancaster Convention Center, The Fulton Theater and the city’s best breweries, dining, shops, and galleries!
